First Central Bank

It is interesting to note that the foundation of First Central Bank was first formed in the early 1900’s with three separate banks in Furnas County. Those three banks have merged and become what is now known as First Central Bank with locations in Cambridge, Arapahoe, and Edison. The newest addition occurred in 1998 when First Central Bank McCook was chartered.

These two bank charters are locally owned by Central Bancshares, Inc. The shareholders of Central Bancshares, Inc., consist of local farmers, ranchers, business owners, bankers and a physician.

Board of Directors include Henry Koch, Jerry Petersen, Jerry Meyerle, Mike Adams, Charles Hunt, Dr. Lennie Deaver, Gary Thompson, Don Moore, and Keith Klocke. This team of Directors and Shareholders care about the development in the surrounding communities and maintain a very active status in the condition of First Central Bank and First Central Bank McCook. They feel it is important to foster a positive and caring work environment, where employees embrace diversity and change to create loyal customer relationships while providing leadership in the communities served.

Gary Thompson serves as chairman of the board and CEO of First Central Bank in Arapahoe, Cambridge and Edison, with Don Moore serving as president and senior lending officer of those banks. Moore is the president and CEO of First Central Bank McCook with Thompson acting as senior lending officer.
